Cardinal

The cardinals love my bird bath. The newest addition to the neighborhood cats just got a collar with a bell because she was admiring my birds and lizards a bit too much.

Bougainville Glabra

I bought these two last year. I even remembered to bring them in before the frost. They love the heat. They are not natives, but neither are the pineapples sharing their pots. I'm unlikely to get pineapples here in Austin, but a friend in Houston has been successful. Next time you buy a pineapple, twist off the top, let it dry for a week, the stick it in the dirt. It's that easy.

Humming Bird Moth

This is a Humming Bird Moth. It's actually in my neighbor's yard enjoying the Plumbago. They flit around and look like the tinniest humming bird ever.

It's official.
